Certified Medical Assistant / Front Desk Professional
Pincus Plastic Surgery | Smithtown, NY | $25 per hour
ON-SITE POSITION: Combined Clinical and Front Desk Role
Pincus Plastic Surgery is seeking an accomplished, certified Medical Assistant with a strong medical front desk background to join our established surgical and aesthetic practice.
This is a hybrid of two responsibilities: medical assisting and front desk operations. All work is performed in person at our Smithtown office. This is not a remote or hybrid work arrangement.
The ideal candidate brings clinical confidence, exceptional organization, and the judgment to deliver a refined, attentive patient experience. This position is suited to an experienced professional who can transition seamlessly between supporting our clinical team and managing a busy front desk.
Required Qualifications:
- Current medical assistant certification. Applicants awaiting certification will not be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in both medical assisting and medical front desk operations. Experience in only one area does not meet the requirements of this position.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling, multiple phone lines, patient check-in and checkout, and payment collection.
- Experience with electronic medical records and accurate patient documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, discretion, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
Preferred Experience:
- Two or more years of experience in aesthetics, plastic surgery, or dermatology strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting cosmetic consultations, procedures, and preoperative and postoperative visits.
- Familiarity with Nextech.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare and room patients for consultations, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate electronic records.
- Assist clinicians during consultations and in-office procedures within the role’s permitted duties.
- Reinforce clinician-provided patient instructions.
- Maintain treatment rooms, supplies, and standardized clinical photography.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and provide attentive, professional service.
- Manage calls, scheduling, check-in and checkout, and payments.
- Coordinate appointment flow and communicate closely with the clinical team.
- Maintain an organized reception area and protect patient confidentiality.
To Apply:
Submit an updated résumé clearly outlining your medical assistant certification and experience in both clinical support and medical front desk operations.
This is not an entry-level or front desk-only position. Please apply only if your background meets the required qualifications above.
